The Department of Environmental Sciences is an interdisciplinary group of researchers specializing in the fields of environmental analytical chemistry, radioecology biogeochemical cycling and metabolism of trace elements in biological systems, bio monitoring, evaluation of nutritional values of food and feedstuffs, environmental modelling, and impact assessments. The Centre for Mass Spectrometry and management of an Ecological Laboratory with a mobile unit also form an important part of the work of the Department.
